White Matte Matcha Bowl made from Three Types of Clay

A matcha bowl featuring an interplay between soft milky white tones and the natural hues of the earth.

This piece is crafted by combining white Shigaraki clay, red Izumo clay, and raw clay from Nara Prefecture, finished with a white matte glaze.

Pale beige and grayish shades emerge from beneath the white glaze, creating a calm and profound appearance.

Anna's Selection

The charm of this bowl lies in the color variations created by the three types of clay and the gentle texture of the white matte glaze.

On the surface of the vessel, the colors of the clay appear as faint patterns, with visible traces where the white glaze has flowed.

The non-uniform coloring creates a soft expression reminiscent of a natural landscape.

The rim features the gentle undulations unique to hand-worked items, which, combined with the rounded body, gives the piece a rustic and serene presence.

The interior is a bright, milky white, providing a backdrop that beautifully highlights the vibrant green of matcha.

The foot is left unglazed to preserve the natural warmth of the clay.

About Handmade Ceramics

Because each piece is made by hand, there are individual differences in shape, color, and surface texture.

Glaze drips, uneven coloring, small surface irregularities, and variations in the rim are unique characteristics born from the hand-crafting process.

Please enjoy the one-of-a-kind expression created by the clay and the glaze.
